Specific openings for post-doctoral fellows and graduate students in the Movileanu research group are advertised on this site as they become available. However, talented candidates are always welcome to send in their resumé for consideration.

Postdoc Position

We are looking for a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher. The project is devoted to transmembrane proteins reconstituted lipid membranes. Expertise in molecular biology techniques, protein expression and purification is required. Knowledge of lipid bilayer methods, patch-clamp, tip-dip method, or preparation of liposomes ready for patch-clamping is a plus. Single-molecule optical and electrical recordings on transmembrane pores for probing (bio)polymeric molecules will be used.

Research Assistant Position

We have an opening for a research assistant position to work on reconstituted bilayers and whole cells using patch-clamp techniques.

Undergraduate Research Policy

The lab only accepts students who are able to make a significant time commitment. This requires either an intense summer learning experience and/or 15-20 hours per week (preferably) during the school year for at least one year. These arrangements work well both for my Lab and for motivated undergraduate researchers. The undergraduate research period should be finalized by a fully documented written summary of your work, presentation of the work in the form of a poster and/or a talk.
