Connecting to new web server

If you're using windows, in windows explorer, you will need to "Map Network Drive"
And enter \\fsrv.phy.syr.edu\ (choosing any free drive letter) ie: \\as-fsrv.ad.syr.edu\dckirkpa$
and login with your physics username and password

If you're using Mac or Linux, you will need to Connect to server or SMB/Windows
And enter smb://fsrv.phy.syr.edu/"username" ie: smb://as-fsrv.ad.syr.edu/dckirkpa$
and login with your physics username and password

To get access to your university fileshare:

If you're using windows, in windows explorer, you will need to "Map Network Drive"
And enter \\as-fsrv.ad.syr.edu\"username"$ (choosing any free drive letter) ie: \\as-fsrv.ad.syr.edu\dckirkpa$
and login with your netid and password

If you're using Mac or Linux, you will need to Connect to server or SMB/Windows
And enter smb://as-fsrv.ad.syr.edu/"username"$ ie: smb://as-fsrv.ad.syr.edu/dckirkpa$
and login with your physics username and password

The main web page will become http://www.phy.syr.edu/ as well as using this address for file share mounts.

The departmental and personal web pages have been moved to the new server.
Your non-web related files are still on the old server for now, the same way you have been accessing them.
If you have any problems displaying the pages on the new server, please restart your network device or reboot your computer.

If you need to edit your web pages, you will need to connect to the server file share.
(the contents of your personal pages, which use to be in public_html, are in the main directory of the user fileshare.)
