SU Physics Disk Storage


Everyone is encouraged to store their important files on the server, NOT on their local machines. Without a good backup of your own computer, you could potentially lose all of your files!
These files are backed up on a regular basis that you can rely on in case of hardware failure. A minimum of one full backup each week is maintained for one month, with additional periodic archives.

For instructions on easier access to these files, check the page explaining Samba, or through ftp to the client login machines.

To begin, all faculty and staff are allocated 1gb (1,000mb) on the server, and students are allocated 500mb. If you should require more space, please place a reasonable request and we will try to honor it on an availability basis.
