* NOTE! If you had multiple IP-Restricted license keys, a really nice
feature of our new network license system allows us to provide you with
just ONE new license key that has all qualifying IP-based license keys
combined into one license key! Below is the information about the IP
addresses that are built into your new site license key:
IPs covered in your new license key are: 128.230.0.0/16
About v8:
We also put in a new StarNetSSH client, a new X-Config user interface
as well as support for the Render Extension, IPv6 and some 29 different
languages from Arabic to Vietnamese. To get a better idea of the many,
many improvements, please visit the following page:
http://www.starnet.com/products/xwin32/ and visit subsections:
Features, Languages, Render and Window Cashing.
* UPGRADE NOTES:
Version 8 is not just another incremental improvement. Because our
previous code was starting to have problems with the latest Windows XP
and Vista, we replaced the entire base technology layer with one that is
optimized for Windows 2000, XP and Vista. We also put in a new
high-speed Window Manager. As a result, Version 8 is blazingly fast,
very stable and does not have some of the quirky Window Manager behavior
we have seen lately with versions 6 and 7.
1) Version 8 will NOT override your existing version. And you may want
to keep the current version around until you have certified that Version
8 works as well or better.
2) Version 8 does not automatically show you your existing sessions
because v8 replaced the problematic system registry system with an XML
format for storing your sessions. Simply go to X-Config and use the
Session Migration option to covert your existing sessions to v8
sessions.
3) Version 8 does not work with Windows NT, ME, 98 and 95.
4) PseudoColor Support is currently being worked on and will be
available this fall. So you may want to keep version 6 or 7 around to
run applications requiring PseudoColor support.
