Installing Maple 6

Maple 6.01 does NOT appear to work with Red Hat Linux 7.x

See: MapleLicenseFileInstallationInstructions.htm  for how to update the license files

If your machine is always connected on campus to the network, you want to install the "server/network" version.

The following instructions are using a network license server.

If you reqiure a standalone version without a network connection, FlexLM must be installed... see me for further help.

License file:

Readme from Maple:

To help you get started in applying Maple 6 to your discipline, check out the Maple Application Center on the Waterloo Maple Web Site (http://www.maplesoft.com/apps/index.html). You'll find hundreds of Maple worksheets that show how Maple is used in a wide range of technical
disciplines.

For the Macintosh Maple Server, place "license.dat" in the license directory.

For all other platforms, use the following instructions.

Instructions For Activating Maple 6 Network Licenses:
1. Save the attached license file as a text file called "network.lic".
2. Place "network.lic" in the FLEXlm folder where the FLEXlm license manager daemons have been copied. (Typically, this will be the FLEXlm directory in
the Maple directory on the Server copy of Maple 6.)

NB: DO NOT overwrite the "license.dat" file in the license directory; both files are required for Maple 6 to run correctly. Further details are available
in the README file for Maple 6.

Prior to installation, please check our corporate website at
http://www.maplesoft.com/support/downloads to ensure that you have the most
current FLEXlm daemons and Maple Service Packs.

If you encounter problems installing either Maple 6 or the License File,
please contact your local reseller or Waterloo Maple's Technical Support
department at mailto:support@maplesoft.com.
