Resetting printers
How to reset Unix
print queues
First, try the following commands
as root (also exists as a script as /usr/local/bin/resetprint):
-
lpc abort all
-
/sbin/init.d/lpd stop
-
sleep 10
-
/sbin/init.d/lpd start
-
lpc up all
If this doesn't work for the
DEC printers in 306, the DEC queueing system has to be restarted.
If anything other than "ready" is
displayed on the DEC printers, turn them off, then back on.
-
Login as root (using a "su" to root
doesn't work and gives a "file corrupt" message)
-
cd /usr/opt/LPS
-
lpssetup
-
(restart print manager & client
for each printer)
-
exit lpssetup
-
lpc abort all
-
/sbin/init.d/lpd stop
-
sleep 10
-
/sbin/init.d/lpd start
-
lpc up all
