Putting Susy-QCD on the lattice in 3D
Abstract:
I will describe two phenomenological studies of
extra dimensional models, more specifically the Randall-Sundrum warped brane world.
There are a number of exact and conjectured field theory results in supersymmetric QCD,
in 2, 3, and 4 dimensions. It would be very nice to test these by studying SUSY QCD
nonperturbatively. The lattice represents our best nonperturbative tool. Unfortunately,
supersymmetry is generally broken by the lattice regulator. A fine tuning is then
necessary to recover supersymmetric behavior on long wavelengths.
Most attacks on this problem focus on designing lattice actions which make the fine tuning
unnecessary. I will argue that, in 2 or 3 dimensions, there is no obstacle to simply
performing the fine tuning, using the simplest available lattice setup; and I will present
explicitly the required counterterms in the lattice action for a general 3 dimensional
gauge theory with fundamental matter fields.
