A postdoctoral research associate opening is expected at Syracuse University in condensed matter and statistical physics. The start date will be as soon as practicable, given job search logistics and the suitability of the candidates. The position will be funded for at least two years.

Besides knowledge of condensed matter and statistical physics, the position requires experience in computation. The research will be conducted jointly with Profs. Bowick ( /research/hetheory/mark.html), Marchetti (/~mcm), and Middleton (/~aam). The work will consist of developing software for the simulation of membranes, lattices in curved topologies, flux lines, related quantum systems, and optimization in disordered materials, and carrying out physics research in these areas.
