PoP to-do list
--------------

sort out NIS group for PoP - waiting on Dan to look into this.

register machine names with syr.edu DNS
	
pgcc  - install whilst keep regular gcc available
	Supposedly offers 10--30% speed improvements with Pentium optimisation
	
easy  - install EASY load leveller

timed - find out why so much gets written to /ver/log/messages. 
	Can this be controlled?
	Should we use xntp instead?

benchmark - trying to get LINPACK running on PoP over PVM, doesn't
      	work yet (15Jun98)
	
MPI	- install and test MPI
