Be concerned about the trade-offs
(legibility vs. filesize).
Be aware that what looks good on a screen (with many
available colors and shades) may not look good on a
printer (which dithers images).
Many people have their displays set at 640 pixels wide.
Many people access the site through a low-bandwidth modem.
The scanner can scan up to 1200dpi with "Millions of Colors". This is obviously not suitable for full page scans, although it may be desirable for certain small images.
