INSTRUCTIONS
What you should do:
Go to: http://www.phy.syr.edu/courses/mra/ and click on "SimScience" (http://ice.syr.edu/SimScience/) (This is the entry point)
You might be prompted for a login name and password; if so, enter:
Login name: hsteval
Password: 4eval
Look at the lower left corner and click on "Eval. notes" (http://ice.syr.edu/SimScience/eval.html) ---It is about evaluating the module "Membranes and Strings" and about how to contact us.
Then go to:
- membranes and strings (blue level)
- crack propagation (red level)
We also have developed simulations for teaching celestial mechanics/astronomy:
Go to: (http://physics/courses/CCD/Solar/)
Then examine:
-- Motion of a planet around a star; there is a choice of different ratio of planet/star massses; (http://physics/courses/CCD/Solar/test.html)
-- Kepler's second law (http://physics/courses/CCD/Solar/test.html)
-- Launching of rockets from different planets and Moon (http://physics/courses/CCD/Escape/escapetest.html)
Look at the contents; if possible show the modules to your students. Then, please answer these questions:
What are the most interesting/useful topics?
What grade level do you think this is appropriate for (specify module examined)?
Would you use it in class or as a part of a project?
Do you have comments about appearance, clarity, ease of navigation?
Are there parts you would like to include, change or exclude?
Are there comments from students?
Thank you for your help!
