File Storage
IMPORTANT!
When you download code using Netscape be careful to save it to
your SUnix account - by default it will otherwise be written to
the H: drive of the PC which is periodically erased. To do this
just select Save As from the file menu and select the
I: drive (labelled also by you username on SUnix) before typing
in the name of the file to be saved. Alternatively, if you
want a floppy disk copy of the code select the A: drive (having
already inserted a formatted floppy disk).
The contents of your SUnix account can be seen by either
- logging in to one of the SUnix machines eg. rodan. and
typing ls.
- looking inside the folder bearing your SUnix username which
appears on the desktop.
Your SUnix account has a quota of 3MB (not much!) so be careful
to only keep files there you really need. Large graphics and
images take up a large amount of space -- think about that
while designing your personal web page.
