Read the chapter Life's Ups and Downs from James Gleick's book Chaos - making a new science. Then answer the following questions (a paragraph will be sufficient for each):
  1. What happens to Robert May's fish population when the boom-and-bustiness parameter r lies between 0 and 1.0. Describe the regime 1.0< r< 3.0. What happens when r is increased still further ?
  2. What is meant by the phrase period doubling ?
