The MRA K-12 Corner
Presentation of interest to high-school physics teachers/education specialists of Central New York.
Title of presentation:
``Simscience: Parallel Supercomputer Simulations for Education in the
Sciences''
Purpose of this presentation is to make high school teachers and
education specialists aware of a NSF-funded project aimed at using
supercomputer and network resources for undergraduate and K-12
education. So far we have developed prototype ``modules'' around four
scientific/engineering problems. We seek high school teachers/education
specialists who are willing to be consultants in this project and wish
to participate in classrooms trial-runs of these prototypes.
The presentation was given by Gianfranco Vidali, project co-P.I. during a workshop for local area high-school physics teachers organized by Prof. Allen Miller.
